Evaluation of Three Reanalysis Soil Temperature Datasets with Observation Data over China

نویسندگان

چکیده

Soil temperature is a crucial parameter in surface emissions of carbon, water, and energy exchanges. This study utilized the soil 836 national basic meteorological observing stations over China to evaluate three products. data from Meteorology Administration Land Data Assimilation System (CLDAS), European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ERA-Interim), Global (GLDAS) during 2017 are evaluated. The results showed that reanalysis datasets display significant north-to-south difference eastern with generally underestimated magnitudes. CLDAS perform assessment best at different depths can be reproduced well most areas China. slightly overestimates summer. deviation ERA-Interim appears summer (summer autumn). As depth increases, errors all increase. represents but owns more considerable bias barren or sparsely vegetated croplands. performs poorest urban built-up areas. GLDAS overall an enormous mixed forest, grassland, croplands areas, which should improved, especially However, it better open shrublands ST forests shows south region than north region. For grasslands, smaller MEs located northwest regions. performance

Evaluation of Satellite and Reanalysis Soil Moisture Products over Southwest China Using Ground-Based Measurements

Long-term global satellite and reanalysis soil moisture products have been available for several years. In this study, in situ soil moisture measurements from 2008 to 2012 over Southwest China are used to evaluate the accuracy of four satellite-based products and one reanalysis soil moisture product. These products are the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for the Earth observing system (A...

Preliminary Evaluation of the SMAP Radiometer Soil Moisture Product over China Using In Situ Data

The Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite makes coincident global measurements of soil moisture using an L-band radar instrument and an L-band radiometer. It is crucial to evaluate the errors in the newest L-band SMAP satellite-derived soil moisture products, before they are routinely used in scientific research and applications. This study represents the first evaluation of the SMAP ra...

Accuracy evaluation of two precipitation datasets over upper reach of Heihe River Basin, northwestern China

As an important forcing data for hydrologic models, precipitation has significant effects on model simulation. The China Meteorological Forcing Dataset (ITP) and Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) precipitation data are the two commonly used data sources in the Heihe River Basin (HRB). This paper focused on evaluating the accuracy of these two precipitation datasets. A set of metrics ...
